We started Nana's Handmade in 2012 as a project that my mother and I could enjoy together. We had no clue how much fun we would have or the wonderful people we would meet.
When my mother and I began thinking about starting a craft business, children's clothing was the most natural thing for her to make. She had sewn a lot of my clothing when I was younger and still loved sewing. Although it was not as natural for me, I loved the idea of challenging myself to learn how to sew better. So, we hit the fabric stores and warmed up the sewing machines.
Our first show was in late 2012, during which we had a small collection of clothes and gift items. By that next summer, we had added quiet toys and games, nursery items, table tents, small sling chairs, and a lot more clothing. We had also launched our first website and had gained a following at the local shows and on Facebook. Our favorite part of the year, though, was all of the interesting people that we met. From customers to fellow crafters, we loved hearing their stories and getting to share in their lives.
We invite you to shop here online or to view more of our items on our Facebook page, but we hope that we can meet you face-to-face soon at one of the local shows.
